Cross-Country Skiing

Fat Biking

Experience Fat Biking this Winter! Fat Bikes are made with extra-wide tires and low pressure so you float over the snow. Bring your own bike or rent at several local shops. Fat Bikes share some ski trails and also have specific trails just for Fat Bikes. Winter Rentals for Bikes

Snowshoeing

Skiing, Snowboarding & Luge Sledding

Best-kept secret. Just 20 miles east of Twisp, the Loup Loup Ski Bowl offers 1,240 vertical feet with cut runs, terrain park, quad chairlift, poma lift, rope tow, 23 km of groomed Cross-Country Ski trails and a tubing hill.

Loup Loup now offers the first Luge Sledding area in the Western United States. Luge sledders can ride for more than 12 km of groomed trails on Bear Mountain. Accessibility from the Loup Loup parking lot to the Bear Mountain Trail system.

Heli-Skiing

North Cascade Heli offers a true wilderness ski experience in the North Cascade Mountains. From one to four-day adventures, you can experience high alpine terrain and deep, dry powder that is difficult to access without a helicopter. Terrain includes big alpine bowls, chutes, ramps, couloirs, glades and treed runs. Nothing else in the Pacific Northwest compares.

Ice Skating

Winthrop’s Outdoor Ice Rink, which is described by NHL Seattle as “Heaven on Ice” offers open skating, pick-up hockey and figure skating everyday of the winter. The open air rink has magnificent views of Mt Gardner and brings fun for the entire family.

Sledding & Snow Tubing

Bundle up the kids in hats, scarves and mittens and head to the most popular sledding hill in Winthrop. This is an easy, short hill fun for tots and all ages. Located near the Winthrop Ice Rink at the Town Trailhead. Easy access & Free. Bring your favorite sled, or our local Ace Hardware store sells a variety of inexpensive sleds/toboggans.

Horse Sleigh Rides

Glide through the snow behind mammoth draft horses while viewing the magical surroundings of the valley from 2900 ft elevation. Snuggle up in Pendelton wool blankets in a beautiful large sleigh with your friends and family and enjoy a ride to the miners tent for a cup of hot chocolate, hot cider or a hearty, western meal. Rates & Information
